Oakley recorded 484 Part 1 crimes through Sept. 19, a 17% jump from 414 at the same point in 2025. The Cincinnati Police Department's (CPD) latest neighborhood crime report, produced by the department's Crime Analysis and Problem Solving unit, details the increase.

Personal and other theft accounts for most of the rise. That category hit 392 incidents year-to-date through Sept. 19, up 29% from 304 in 2025 and well above the three-year average of 300.

In the 28-day period from Aug. 23 through Sept. 19, Oakley recorded 45 Part 1 crimes, up 15% from 39 in the prior period. Personal and other theft accounted for 37 of those 45 incidents, a 19% jump from 31.

CPD spokesperson Brad Underwood was not available for comment on the theft increase.

Where thefts are clustering

The CPD report shows repeat theft activity on several Oakley streets. The 3100–3200 blocks of Geier Drive and the 3700–3800 blocks of Paxton Avenue each had multiple incidents during the 28-day window.

The 4600 block of Marburg Avenue saw five separate theft reports: Aug. 29, Sept. 1, Sept. 8, Sept. 15 and Sept. 17.

Madison Road also had theft activity, with incidents at the 3000 block on Aug. 27, Sept. 1, Sept. 3, and Sept. 16.

Robbery, burglaries and vehicle crimes

A robbery was reported at 12:17 a.m. Sept. 10 at the 3100 block of Madison Road. It was the period's only robbery.

Two burglaries were reported Sept. 4: one at 6:17 a.m. at the 4500 block of Camberwell Road and another at 1:07 p.m. at the 4000 block of Edwards Road. Year-to-date burglary totals remain roughly flat, with 23 in 2026 compared to 24 in 2025.

Five thefts from vehicles were reported during the period, at locations on Enyart Avenue, Disney Street, Marburg Avenue and Paxton Avenue. Auto theft itself is down sharply: 19 stolen vehicles year-to-date in 2026 versus 33 in 2025, a 42% drop. Zero auto thefts were reported in the Aug. 23–Sept. 19 period.

Violent crime down, but homicides up

Part 1 violent crime in Oakley has fallen 45% year-to-date through Sept. 19, from 11 incidents in 2025 to six in 2026. The 28-day period recorded one violent crime, the Madison Road robbery.

The year-to-date homicide count stands at two in 2026, compared to zero in 2025 and a three-year average of zero. Details on the second homicide were not included in the current report.
