Drivers heading through East Walnut Hills over the Labor Day weekend will hit road closures and security checkpoints near Vice President J.D. Vance's home.
Parts of William Howard Taft Road and Collins Avenue will shut down Sept. 4 and stay closed through Sept. 7, WLWT reported. Heavy law enforcement and added security checkpoints are expected in the area throughout the holiday weekend.
William Howard Taft Road will be closed between 1905 William Howard Taft Road and East McMillan Street. Collins Avenue will be closed between William Howard Taft Road and the underside of the Columbia Parkway overpass.
A social media post listing the closures also included Taft Road Lane, Heatherhill Lane and westbound Riverside Drive between Leblond Recreation Center and Collins Avenue. WLWT's report did not mention those additional streets, and no official city or police advisory confirming the full list had been published by Sept. 3.
Drivers are encouraged to use Torrence Parkway, Madison Road and Woodburn Avenue as alternate routes, according to WLWT.
No official start time has been confirmed beyond "Friday afternoon."
