Clark Montessori blanked Norwood 34-0 on Senior Night, picking up its fourth win of the season in a Miami Valley Conference matchup Saturday, Oct. 17, at Withrow.
The shutout was the second of the year for the Cougars, who also posted a 39-0 road win at Finneytown on Sept. 4.
The win moves first-year head coach Keilan Woods' squad to 4-5 overall. The Cougars have already doubled their two-win total from 2025, when the Cougars went 2-8 under former coach Asa Smith, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Smith posted a 23-40 mark in seven seasons.
Woods was hired in December 2025 as the seventh head coach in program history. He arrived after two seasons as defensive coordinator at Withrow and a stint as linebackers coach at Winton Woods, where he was part of a championship-caliber staff, WCPO reported.
In the Sept. 4 rout of Finneytown, senior defensive end Dezmond Mitchell recorded seven tackles and 3.5 sacks.
On offense that night, junior quarterback Karter Lipscomb completed 8 of 11 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Junior wide receiver Jayden Davis caught three passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. Davis also returned a punt for a score.
Individual stats from the Norwood game were not available.
Athletic director Derek Williams told WCPO in September that Woods had been "bringing new life to the program." After that first win at Finneytown, Woods told the station, "It's something I've dreamed about since I was a kid!"
The Cougars opened the year 0-2 with losses to Aiken and Summit Country Day before the Finneytown breakout. They went 3-3 over their next six games, including Saturday’s win.
Clark Montessori closes the regular season Friday, Oct. 23, at Cincinnati Country Day. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
A win in the finale would give the Cougars a 5-5 regular-season record. The OHSAA football playoffs begin Oct. 30.
