Withrow knocked off No. 12 La Salle 33-18 on Friday, Oct. 2, in a result that defied the pregame forecast.

WLWT's Blitz preview had picked La Salle to win, calling the matchup "a close ball game" while noting Withrow "has been competitive in every game it has played this season." The Tigers won by 15.

The victory caps a strong stretch for head coach Anthony Berry's squad. Withrow routed Western Hills 52-0 in Week 6 and now has back-to-back dominant performances heading into the final three games of the regular season. The Blitz scoreboard confirmed the final: Withrow 33, La Salle 18.

La Salle, a Greater Catholic League-South program, entered the game ranked No. 12 in the Blitz 5 Top 25 regional poll. The Lancers were already reeling after a 45-0 shutout loss to No. 4 Moeller in Week 6. Quarterback Garrett Fraley had been La Salle's primary offensive weapon through the early weeks, throwing for 396 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 227 yards and a score through the season's first four games.

Withrow's offense has leaned on junior quarterback Sa'Vion Davis, junior running back Dion Clardy and senior wide receiver Tyshawn Johnson all season. In the Tigers’ Week 4 loss to Harrison, which entered the game No. 1 in the Division II, Region 8 computer ratings, Clardy scored on a 5-yard touchdown run and Davis connected with Johnson on a 13-yard fourth-down touchdown pass to give Withrow a 13-7 halftime lead before the Tigers fell 22-13.

Berry preached consistency after that September loss. "We just got to keep chopping wood … We just got to keep attacking the details," Berry told WCPO after the Tigers' Sept. 11 loss to Harrison. "Making sure that when we're up on teams we got to make sure that we put them away."

Against La Salle, the Tigers held a ranked opponent to 18 points and pulled away for a 15-point win.
