Withrow's boys soccer team spotted Deer Park a goal and still walked away with a win Thursday night, beating the Wildcats 2-1 on the road to open the 2026 season.
The Tigers fell behind 1-0 at Deer Park High School before rallying with two unanswered goals to complete the comeback in the 7 p.m. match on Aug. 20. The result gives Withrow an early confidence boost as the CMAC program enters a packed early-season stretch.
It was a fight. The Withrow Boys Soccer program said on X after the final whistle that the Tigers showed resilience in clawing back from the deficit.
Withrow, which competes in the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference and the OHSAA, faces a quick turnaround with three games in the next week. The Tigers travel to Norwood on Aug. 24, at 7 p.m., then host Hughes at Withrow High School on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. before heading to Madeira on Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.
The 20-match schedule includes CMAC rivals Gamble Montessori, Aiken, Woodward and Clark Montessori, along with non-conference opponents like Seven Hills, Walnut Hills and West Clermont. The Tigers' first home game comes Aug. 26 against Hughes.
