Someone broke into a vehicle on Loraine Avenue in Oakley, stole property, and then used the victim's credit card. Cincinnati police released a photo of the suspect Thursday, July 30, and are asking residents to help identify them.

The vehicle break-in occurred at 226 Loraine Ave., according to the Cincinnati Police Department's official post on X. CPD said an unknown suspect broke into the victim's vehicle, took property, and later used the stolen credit card. The department did not specify when the break-in took place.

Police released an image of the suspect in connection with the fraudulent credit card use. The photo is attached to CPD's public post.

The incident is the latest in a series of property crimes in Oakley. As we reported July 29, police sought tips in two other recent Oakley theft cases on different streets. Previous tip requests this year have covered incidents on Adena Trail, Madison Road, Marburg Avenue, Paxton Avenue, Robinwood Avenue, East Seymour Avenue, and Ferguson Road.

CPD's Oakley neighborhood crime report shows 372 Part 1 property crimes recorded through early July 2026, up 49% from 249 over the same period in 2025. Personal and other thefts surged nearly 72%, jumping from 181 incidents to 311. The data is preliminary.

CPD's post identified the investigating unit as District 4, though Oakley typically falls under District 2 in the department's neighborhood reporting structure. The reason is unclear.

Residents who spot suspicious activity around vehicles can call 911 if a crime is in progress.
