Clark Montessori's football team beat Manchester 28-12 on the road Saturday, Sept. 26, giving the Cougars their second win of the season and matching last year's win total through just six games.

The victory at Manchester High School in Manchester, Ohio, improved Clark Montessori's record to 2-4 in head coach Keilan Woods's first season. Manchester fell to 3-2.

The team's football Instagram account celebrated from the field after the game:

@clarkcougars_football: "Big win vs a very good team super proud of my guys tonight go Clark! With this win tonight we Tie the record for wins from last season!"

Woods, named head coach in December 2025 after two seasons as defensive coordinator at Withrow University High School, has built the program around a "New Day" theme. After the Cougars' first win of the year, a 39-0 shutout of Finneytown on Friday, Sept. 4, Woods told WCPO the victory was "super special."

Woods said at the time that he was happy for his players, adding they "deserve something different."

Athletic director Derek Williams told WCPO after the Finneytown win that Woods has been "a huge bright spot, bringing new life to the program."

Clark Montessori opened with a 18-12 loss to Aiken and an 8-24 loss to Summit Country Day before the Finneytown shutout. Losses to Gamble Montessori (20-34) and Hughes (20-56) followed. The Manchester win snapped a two-game skid.

Junior quarterback Karter Lipscomb, junior wide receiver Jayden Davis and senior defensive end Dez Mitchell have been key contributors this season. In the Finneytown win, Lipscomb went 8-of-11 for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Davis had three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown, plus a punt-return score. Mitchell recorded seven tackles with 3.5 sacks. Individual stats from the Manchester game were not available.

Clark Montessori hosts Shroder (1-4) at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Withrow High School.
