Hyde Park residents who walk, bike, or drive along Erie Avenue and Murray Road have until Friday, August 14, to weigh in on a planned safety overhaul of both corridors.

The Cincinnati Department of Transportation & Engineering (DOTE) opened a community experience survey on Monday, July 13, asking how people travel the stretch of Erie Avenue between Saybrook Avenue and Murray Road, and along Murray Road near its intersection with La Crosse Avenue.

The project, which is in its design phase, would redesign key intersections, add protection to existing bike lanes, fill a gap in the sidewalk network on Murray Road, and improve trail connections, according to the DOTE project page. The work covers travel routes through Hyde Park, Oakley, and Madisonville.

How to participate

The online survey is available at https://forms.office.com/r/ESR9jemZ7k through August 14. DOTE also plans an in-person design feedback session in fall 2026, where residents can view the proposed design and offer additional input. A specific date and location for that session have not been announced.

Funding and scope

The project is funded through Ohio Public Works Commission and Metro Transportation Improvement Fund grants. No cost estimate for the overall project has been made public.

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Council shared the survey announcement on July 13, urging residents to spread the word so DOTE hears from as many corridor users as possible.

What's next

The survey closes August 14. DOTE will use responses to develop a proposed design, which residents can review at the fall open house. No construction timeline has been announced.
