On the issues
The following positions are drawn from Evans' campaign website responses.
Domestic violence: Evans said the court's administrative judge has changed how domestic violence cases are handled, with the court now considering a victim's mental distress alongside physical injury. She said judicial officers have a working relationship with law enforcement to ensure safety during service of process, and the court houses a Legal Help Center. Evans said she believes the approach has saved lives and that she would collaborate with court leadership to build on that progress.
Court efficiency and mediation: Evans said litigation is costly. She said the court's mediation department helps litigants, especially those without attorneys, resolve disputes without a trial. As judge, Evans said she would work to grow the mediation department and expand its reach.
Judicial approach: Evans said nobody wants to be in Domestic Relations Court, especially children. She said she would work to earn trust and deliver justice swiftly.
