Chamberlain University, the country's largest school of nursing, will cut the ribbon on a new campus at the Kenwood Collection on Thursday, Aug. 20, bringing a three-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to Cincinnati's east side.

Classes begin Aug. 31.

Executive campus director Priya Shastri said in the May 19 campus announcement that Cincinnati is making extraordinary investments in its healthcare future. "This campus is here to build on that momentum, graduating practice-ready nurses the region needs to keep pace with its growing healthcare demand," Shastri said.

The campus at 5905 E. Galbraith Road, Suite 3000, in Sycamore Township is Chamberlain's 25th location nationally and its second in Ohio. The Columbus campus has been graduating nurses since 2007.

Applications are open, with no application fee and no prerequisite courses required. The program features simulation labs, direct patient-care clinicals at regional health system partners and flexible evening and weekend scheduling aimed at working adults and career changers.

Arriving amid a nursing shortage

The opening comes as Greater Cincinnati faces steep demand for healthcare workers. According to Chamberlain's announcement, six open healthcare jobs compete for every healthcare graduate in the region. Ohio recorded nearly 50,000 healthcare vacancies per month last year.

Chamberlain isn't the only institution responding. The University of Cincinnati expanded its annual nursing cohort from 220 to 300 students, and Christ College of Nursing launched a three-year program for working adults, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier.

Financial incentives for early students

The Cincinnati campus is offering a Founders' Grant of up to $15,000 toward a BSN for early enrollees. A separate High School to Healthcare Program offers 33% tuition savings, up to $31,201.

Chamberlain's Columbus campus posted a 98.36% NCLEX pass rate in 2025 with an average class size of 16 students.

Chamberlain University President Amelia Manning, who took the role May 19, said in the May 19 announcement: "We want to earn our place as a long-term partner in this region."

The ribbon-cutting ceremony runs from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the Kenwood Collection. Chamberlain is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and its nursing programs hold accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
