The Mt. Lookout Fall Festival has its permit. Cincinnati City Council approved the neighborhood celebration's special event permit on Aug. 5, clearing the way for the annual gathering at Mt. Lookout Square this fall.
City Manager Sheryl M. M. Long submitted the permit application, listed as Item #17 on the council agenda.
The Mt. Lookout Community Council, the all-volunteer nonprofit that organizes the festival, has staged the event at the Square, the neighborhood business district at Delta and Linwood avenues, for years. The MLCC was founded in 1906 and describes itself as the oldest continually operated civic organization in Ohio.
Last year's festival drew hundreds of residents to the Square on a Sunday afternoon. Then-President Mike Cheetham called the 2024 edition "a huge success" in his January 2025 annual letter to members.
The festival features live music, food vendors and craft stalls. It is free to attend.
Funding comes partly through the MLCC's annual Luminaria fundraiser, which also supports Mt. Lookout Square beautification, seasonal flowerpots, holiday lights and the Ault Park Fireworks, according to the MLCC's Luminaria page.
