Mount Lookout recorded five Part 1 crimes between Aug. 16 and Sept. 12. That marks a 25% increase over the prior 28-day period, according to the Cincinnati Police Department's latest neighborhood crime report.

The jump reverses a quiet stretch. An earlier CPD report covering Aug. 2 through Aug. 29 had logged just three Part 1 offenses, a 62.5% drop from the period before it.

Two incidents on Linwood Avenue stand out. CPD data shows a robbery reported at about 3 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the 3100 block and an auto theft reported at about 2:52 a.m. in the 3200 block, eight minutes earlier and one block away. The report does not indicate whether the two are connected.

Two burglaries also appeared in the period. One was reported at 2:23 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the 3400 block of Principio Avenue. The second was reported at 6:36 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, in the 1100 block of Herschel Avenue. A personal theft was reported at 2:56 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in the 700 block of Tweed Avenue.

Burglaries doubled. The count rose to two from one in the prior period.

The bigger shift shows in year-to-date violent crime. Through Sept. 12, Mount Lookout has recorded five Part 1 violent offenses in 2026, up 150% from two in the same span of 2025. The breakdown: two robberies (zero in 2025), two rapes (one in 2025), one aggravated assault (zero in 2025) and zero homicides or strangulations.

Year-to-date total Part 1 crime stands at 37, up about 6% from 35 at the same point last year and in line with the three-year average of 37. Property crime, at 32 offenses, is down about 3% from 33 in 2025.

CPD's Crime Analysis and Problem Solving unit, which covers District 2, produced the report. The department labels all figures preliminary and subject to further review.
