Mount Lookout recorded just two crimes in the Cincinnati Police Department's latest 28-day reporting window, a 75% drop from the prior period.

The CPD neighborhood report, updated Sept. 6, covers Aug. 9 through Sept. 5. Total Part 1 crime fell from eight incidents to two. Violent crime hit zero, down from three incidents that included a rape, a robbery and an aggravated assault in the prior window.

Property crime also fell sharply, dropping 60% from five incidents to two.

The only crimes logged during the period were a burglary at the 3400 block of Principio Avenue on Aug. 17, and a theft at the 700 block of Tweed Avenue on Aug. 24.

Year-to-date picture is mixed

The 28-day improvement hasn't erased a tougher year overall. Through Sept. 5, Mount Lookout has tallied 34 total Part 1 crimes in 2026 compared with 33 at the same point in 2025, a 3% increase.

Violent crime remains more than doubled year-to-date: four incidents in 2026 versus one in 2025. Those four include two rapes, one robbery and one aggravated assault. No homicides have been reported.

On the property side, burglaries are down significantly, falling from six in 2025 to two in 2026. Auto theft dropped from seven to five. But personal and other theft rose from six incidents last year to 11 this year, an 83% jump. Theft from autos held steady at 12 in both years.

What the data shows

The year-to-date violent crime count held at four through both the Aug. 17 and Sept. 6, report updates. That means no new violent incidents were added to the annual tally during the entire Aug. 9–Sept. 5 stretch.

CPD's Crime Analysis and Problem Solving unit produced the report. All figures are preliminary and subject to further review, according to the department.
