The Hyde Park Farmers Market has not announced any closures following back-to-back flash floods that hit the square on July 17 and July 21, meaning its regular Sunday schedule appears intact as the neighborhood recovers.

The market runs every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hyde Park Square, 2700 Erie Ave., through October. Shoppers can find vegetables, fruits, pasture-raised meats, eggs, cheeses, herbs, cut flowers, and artisan prepared foods from local farms and food artisans.

Flood recovery on the square

The July 17 storm dropped up to five inches of rain on parts of Cincinnati, triggering 20 water-related emergency responses in Hyde Park alone, according to the Cincinnati Fire Department. A second round of flooding struck the square on July 21.

Jake Shifman, whose wife Laura Houston co-owns Dovetale Bakery on Hyde Park Square, told WVXU on July 21 that businesses along the square have banded together, sharing resources and tips to mitigate flood damage. "We thought Friday was a one-time thing, but then, here we are again," Shifman said.

Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long said the city deployed debris-removal crews with priority focus on Hyde Park, Oakley, Madisonville, and California. A roll-off container was stationed at 4420 Camberwell Road in Hyde Park.
